    Perfect ending to a great Sunday. We shared a Caesar salad and then split a pizza. His half: Fromaggi e Pollo - 5 different cheeses, chicken sausage, red onion, san marzano tomatoes, and pistachios. My husband says the pistachios added just the right touch. My half: Quatro Stagioni - mushrooms, tomatoes, ham, baby black olives and artichoke hearts. Incredible!! Service was excellent. Pizza reminded me of samplings I've had in Europe. This place is at the top of my pizza list!

    I can't believe I've never been here before! The pizza? AMAZING thin crust and Flavorful. They even bring out different dipping oils for them. We also ordered the Bruschetta trio for the appetizer. The pesto was my favorite, excellent appetizer on nice soft bread. The building is old, it has a nice classic feel. The atmosphere is just perfect and our server Stormy was more than attentive and sweet. This place is 5 stars all the way, and I would even venture to say they have the best pizza in the springs. Don't miss out!

    This place is amazing! The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The outside seating is Devine. Now, the food.... The pizza was delicious. Not only did they have to our table in a very timely manor, it had toppings that were delicious and unique. I would recommend this place to any avid pizza lover! The pricing was reasonable! Would visit again!

    My new favorite pizza. See, I'm a recent thin-crust convert. And while i prefer a little more variety in my toppings, what they do have is awesomely fresh, often locally sourced, yummy, etc. Get the one with arugula on top, but add fennel sausage. A little truffle and chile oil, home run!

    What a nice surprise. A quaint little place hidden in Old Colorado City. If you're a pizza lover and appreciate an original brick oven baked pizza, this is it. The host says the pizza is made up of all home made/grown ingredients, even the cheese is made there! This little place sits on the main road of Old CO City and has a cute little outside sitting area molded between two buildings. Parking is plentiful and free at the back or park in front but there are meters. We haven't had the chance to taste other things yet but we really enjoyed two pizzas and a lovely orange thingy desert,with a shot of well made espresso. We will update on our future visits. BTW...the outside court is pet friendly, so we enjoyed having our hound with us.

    Ordered some food to go. They don't have plastic utensils.... seriously. I guess they expect you to eat salad with your hands. A 15 min wait on food turned into 35 mins. Soggy sad pizza. Called them to complain... the person I spoke with said that is how they make their pizza.

    It was a nice place to eat, We sat outside, it was decorated. The Pizza was good, i got the Rustica Signature pizza, it was very moist, the mozzarella was fantastic! I have had better pizza before, but it was enjoyable :) i fell well about having eaten here.

    We waited far too log for a table when it was empty. My limoncello martini tasted like it had no rhyme or reason for the ratios in the recipe, it was awful . I decided to get a glass of wine and it 15 mins to get. A iceberg Caesar took over a half hour for $9!!? Never will return. It's a shame it's a charming place. I've worked for over 10 years in the restaurant industry.. I'm sure the pizzas are good.

    It's just Okay. It's been better. We haven't been here in some time. The salad was simple, with romaine lettuce and dressing. Tasty, but the lettuce needs to be washed! The smoked cheese and flat bread were very oily, which is expected when cheese is melted. Very tasty. The two pizzas ordered were okay, but both were soggy in the middle, a few more minutes to cook would have helped. The service was okay. Previously when we've been here it has been busy busy, not today??? Nothing spectacular, disappointing when you had a good meal there before and it has had some good reviews. It needs to maintain good food and service to keep getting good reviews. Disappointed today.

    I really enjoyed Pizarria Rustica. I was debating on the fifth star. The pizza was excellent, but the toppings are a little sparse for my taste. This is the intended style, and next time I'll ask them to be a bit more generous with the toppings and I may revisit this review. Speaking of style, their thin crust reminded me of the thin crust we had in Venice, and I love that they have roasted garlic as a topping. The service was top notch, and I loved the decor as well. If you want to -almost- go to Italy for supper, you should try them out.

    It's pizza, so it can't really be too bad. The caprese salad was fantastic and fresh. I got the marghertia pizza (which I consider the true test of a good pizza place), and I was unimpressed. It was decent, but not great. Dessert was a delicious espresso with chocolate gelato. The location is great and it's a nice starting point if you want to spend some time in OCC.

    Fresh and tasty caprese salad and average crispy crust pizza. Service was decent and the atmosphere was cozy. Not a bad place for dinner. I did feel bad for a man that was sitting in one of the wood chairs and it broke. He was quite embarrassed and left quickly.

    If there were a minus 5 star that's what I would give them! The first time there was good! So good, that I invited two friends to join me there for lunch on Wednesday. That time, while the food we ordered was good, the service was abysmal! We couldn't get the waitress' attention to get more water and ice tea and when she finally brought it, she filled one of two water glasses and that was without ice. She filled the ice tea glass with tepid tea and no ice. It's called iced tea for a reason! Apparently she didn't know that. One of my party had ordered a pizza to go and when she got home, found an unwanted ingredient-- some kind of a big, green bug! She called the restaurant to report the problem and the response was, more or less, "so what do you want me to do about it?". Today's Friday and there has still been no response from the management. I went in, personally, today and spoke to the manager. When I started to show him the picture of the bug, he said, "Oh, yes, I remember that complaint and I turned it in to my general manager." When I said it certainly should have been addressed by now, he asked what should be done. The first thing, of course, would have been to refund the cost of the pizza. The second thing would have been a genuine apology from the manager owner. Since none of those things have been offered, they get the minus 5 rating.     Best pizza in Colorado Springs! Great atmosphere and a perfect place to go to dinner when spending the day in Old Colorado City. In the summer, the patio is so nice to spend the evening. I recommend the pizza rustica, it is absolutely delicious!!

    Pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. The location is nice and parking is easy. The menu is vast and their ingredients are fresh. The only reason I gave them 4 stars is that the seating is tight unless you are outside and you will be sitting right next to other people. The food was very tasty and the waitress was extremely good. The pizza that I got was the rustica and the only thing I would change is the sheer amount of ricotta cheese they stuffed in the crust, a little much for me. Other than that, I really enjoyed myself and will go back.

    It's really casual, but not that friendly for kids because: no kids menu with smaller pizzas, and they don't bring out the kid's food first. Kids have to wait until after adults eat the salad course unless you specifically request it. It's slow to get food, but the pizza is great. We got the salsiccia pizza. Super simple. Awesome crust. This place doesn't have real lunch specials - lunch specials instead are a few speciality items priced around $15 each.

    We go to Pizzeria Rustica as often as possible. To us (the family) this is the best Pizza in the city..It is thin crust and great. I also enjoy the Caprese Salad when wanting something lighter (and the family wants Pizza). I read a poor review about the host giving a hard time to folks (non-customers) using the restroom..They don't know the area... All places in the area reserve the restrooms to customers only. If that was not done there would be other problems that the (paying) customers would not appreciate. I can't speak to other poor comments on service it has always been fine for us. Again for us the Pizza is great. Also it is owned by the same folks that have Tapateria.. Another of my fav places

    Quaint pizza place in Old Colorado City. I started with a Caprese salad which was loaded with fresh tomatoes and excellent slices of mozzarella cheese. I followed that with a splendid wood fired pizza that matched anything I had while stationed in Italy. I had the Margherita with Mozzarella di Buffalo. Really tasty. Maybe my only gripe was that the anchovy was not offered as a topping. Probably better off it without, for the pizza stood out on its own.

    Second time here and still not disappointed. With its more intimate and classy atmosphere (compared to Il Vicino's or Duca's Neapolitan), Pizzeria Rustica is a great place for a casual yet nice date. My gal pal and I headed here after wining it up at 2South across the street. The owner himself greeted us and showed us to our table. We managed to score one of the last tables available without reservations around 7PM. I was surprised by how full it actually was, given it was a Tuesday evening. Our server was warm with a ready smile, but she was quite busy as it appeared she and the owner were the only people working the dining room. With that said, our drinks and food were never delayed. My Salumi was great. The dough was pleasing in texture and taste, the sauce was bright and fresh, and the toppings (two types of salami and a mozzarella) were excellent and flavorful. My friend highly enjoyed her Quattro Stagioni. The minimal amount of toppings on our pizzas may be a complaint to others, but for me, I felt the simplicity of the pizzas made the excellence of the individual ingredients shine. As for the prices, I feel they're fair, but perhaps it's because I expected it. First, I wouldn't call this place family-friendly - in fact, both times I've been here (the first being lunch on a Saturday), I have never seen any kids under 17, which bumps up the atmosphere a couple notches. Second, this is Old Colorado City, a touristy destination. Finally, they provide sit-down service, unlike Il Vicino's or Duca's where you order at the counter and get your own drinks (not that there's anything wrong with that as Duca's is still my fave). Only complaint is the tables are very close together, so in the booth area it can be difficult to squeeze in and out between ours and the neighbor's tables. Excellent location. Free public parking lots are available close by, or they have paid street parking.

    We absolutely enjoyed our meal and we're happy to see the stamp of approval from the local farmers association and it's considered a green establishment. We sat outside and service was great. Being vegan the waitress was very thoughtful about my choices and the vegan parsley pesto was delicious on my 1/2 of the pizza. My daughter had a small side salad with fresh crisp veggies and mixed greens she loved. I topped meal off with a limoncello sorbet and almond biscotti. Portion sizes were perfect.

    We ate there once and decided we wanted to have our rehearsal dinner there. That was a great decision! Whether you want to meet some coworkers for a meal and drinks, take your wife out to dinner, or bring a large group, this place is fantastic! The food is on point, the staff is great, and the atmosphere is relaxing. We are going to be settling down here in the springs and whenever we have visitors we will bring them here.     Nice place if you want to get away from Manitou for a spell. We had the Caprese salad, which we wouldn't get again... the mozzarella didn't taste fresh enough, but our rustica pizza was really good, with the crusts stuffed with ricotta. We'll be back upon a return visit to Manitou.

    Pizza was just good but nothing special as many of the reviews said. A little pricey in our opinion. I think at night sitting outside would have merit but during the day it was nothing special. Staff courteous and friendly. Would not go again.

    Upon further review I think I'd revamp my 3 star rating into a 5 star. The main reasons being that I was not aware of their commitment to local produce in their products which was extremely apparent in their roasted tomatoes. Also, the service and atmosphere on the patio is just awesome. I'm willing to pay for quality and that's what I got.

    Boyfriend took me here for lunch after climbing at City Rock and I can say I've experienced better. Our server was very polite and prompt but it was the food that makes me want to go to other places. I've been told this is the best pizza place in town, everything is organic, sustainable, blah blah blah so i had to try this out. Nice to try pizza from other places other than Domino's and Pizza Hut every once in a while. Our food came and our pizza had six slices. The cheese kept falling off and the bottom was so wet from all of the grease and oil that I had to eat mine with a knife and fork. Super soggy stuff! Our crusts were burnt so we didn't bother eating the crusts. I did like the mushrooms and the pepperoni, but for the price which was twelve dollars, this pizza should have been much better. It was very average. I might come back, who knows but I definitely won't be getting the pizza again, that's for sure!

    This pizza reminds me of the delicious pizzas I once found in Italy. Truly Authentic! Hand tossing your pies as you order and using mozzarella they made that day. The only suggestion I have is...eating the pizza in the restaurant, it tastes best when hot out of the oven!

    This place is cute and cozy. They have a patio which is my favorite part. We sat outside. It was a Friday at 5 and we asked for happy hour and they said only week nights. Hummmm.. So no happy hour on Fridays booo to that. They do not have beer on tap only in the bottles but a good selection. Always ask what the special pizza of the ay is. I decided to make my own and I added goat cheese, garlic and onions and the pizza was $18.00! I would say order from the menu or you are gonna spend a lot on your pizza! But it was good! Everyone loved their pizzas. My friend got the caprese salad and loved that too.

    I have to say it is a great looking place and the staff was super attentive, but the food wasn't that good. We ordered 3 pizza's and they all were just okay, nothing special and they were kind of soggy like a frozen pizza. I was really disappointed since you are paying top dollar for what you got and it was just medicore. My recommendation to anyone in that are is to drive just a little father and get some good pizza at Savelli's.

    The food was fresh with authentic Italian Pizza and good salads...so we are giving the food 4 stars. BUT our service only gets 1 star!! It took them an hour to get us our pizza, after having to give our order to the server a second time. The manager should have done more than comping our salad! We left this restaurant disappointed!

    As the name implies, this is a pizza place. The pizzas are sized for one person with a hungry appetite or for two who want to share a pizza and a salad or appetizer. The salads are fresh and drizzled with a tasty dressing. The tiramisu is worth trying for dessert. Indoor seating has a nice cozy atmosphere and there is also a nice outdoor patio eating area. Service was fast and friendly as well.

    Just had dinner here with my wife and it was absolutely wonderful. We haven't had pizza this good since being in Italy. We started with the Caesar salad which was easily large enough to split. Next was the Formaggio y pollo pizza and it was the best we've had in the states. We finished off the meal with the cookie and gelato where the cookie was piping hot fresh out of the oven. It will be worth making the trip back to Colorado Springs just to eat at Pizzeria Rustica!

    Small place. There's basically no where to wait. The same with most of OCC so if they're full in the winter bring a coat because your wait will be outside. Pizzas are good. Thin, uneven, chewy crust with some gourmet toppings. They do have a covered outside patio for the summer. Pizzas aren't very filling so if debating order one per person.

    Always a fan of Pizzeria Rustica. Last night I went in with my boyfriend and a friend and we ordered three pizzas. The dough was not as crispy and done as usual so I asked if they could throw it back on the fire for a minutes. They can't really do that because the cheese causes issues in the ovens once the pizza has been cut so instead offered to make me a new pizza. I said no thanks and that it wasn't a big deal. They made me the extra pizza anyway (delicious by the way) and didn't charge us for the original or the extra. Good food and even better service.

    We lived in Italy for 3 years and are still on a search for authentic Italian pizza. This was not it. The pizza was good, but not great. The sauce lacked seasoning and the crust was doughy and limp except around the very edges. The best thing about this place was the outdoor patio with its huge umbrellas and lighting. That part did remind me a bit of the outdoor eateries in Italy. The closest we've had to real Italian here so far is all the way down in Salida at Amicas.

    My new favorite pizza place, for two reasons. Reason #1: We shared a Pizza Rustica, which was simple and amazingly tasty. Reason #2: We probably never would have gone there if we hadn't happened to have struck up a conversation on the street with the owner, who had taken an interest in my Smart car (so what if it was a comic interest?). We told him (Dave Brackett, I believe is his name) we were in the neighborhood for dinner at the Italian place a couple of blocks away (Paravicini's). Dave told us we probably wouldn't get in without reservations that night, so he whipped out his phone, dialed Paravicini's, and asked if they could find a table for my friend and I. It worked. We loved Dave's coolness, so we tried his pizza, and now we love his pizza, too.

    I went here after going up the "Incline" and boy was this the PERFECT place to go. We went before the dinner rush and were actually able to pre-order before we even got in. I came with 6 people and we dined family style. We ordered 3 pizzas and 2 salads and we were happy campers!! We had the Rustica, Margarita and sausage pizzas which all were delicious. The ambiance was warm and cozy and perfect for what we needed at the time. I imagine this place would be good for dates during the evening and better for the family before dinner. I would come back here in a heart beat if I ever venture out to Colorado Springs again.

    I really expected more. We arrived at Pizza Rustica on a Friday night at the same time as 2 other couples. Despite the fact that nobody seemed to be in a huge hurry to sit down, and there were multiple open tables, the hostess seemed a little frazzled to try and handle several groups at once. We were seated outside, which had nice ambience. Even though it was a cool night, the large outdoor heating lamps kept it comfortable throughout our meal. For an appetizer, I had the mozzarella and tomato caprese (very good), and my boyfriend did the Insalata Mista, which was nicely displayed and very fresh. The wine was a real disappointment. We ordered red, and it was warm to the touch. This went beyond room temperature. I'm not sure if the wine is stored too close to the pizza ovens, or what the issue was, but it was certaintly not served an appropriate temperature for red. For dinner we shared two pizzas. They were both just okay. They took a very long time to make it to our table (we heard our waitress explaining to another table near us that there was a "backlog" in the kitchen-- disappointing since so few tables had diners), and the glob of cheese (ricotta?) on our pizza rustica was on the very edge of one slice/crust (falling onto the plate), so that there was not topping on the other slices. It looked lovely and rustic, but actually bordered a bit on the sloppy side. Overall, it was okay. If I was in the mood for wood-fired pizza, and I didn't feel like making one on my own grill, I would consider going back. But for the overall combination of price, service and taste, I wouldn't go out of my way.

    A nice night out with 2 best friends and we were all hungry. Walking in the air smelled fabulous from the wood oven in the kitchen. We started with the Insalta Mista salad which was perfect for 3 to share. Then we got 2 pizzas- the Rustica and Salsiccia. Both were very good and if I lived in Colorado Springs I'd go hear regularly.

    Certainly recommend it! Went through the door expecting good, stone-baked pizza, and that's exactly what I got! And then some! The pizzas (I had a salami) are enough to feed about two each, and though a little pricey, their quality is totally worth the extra dollars! Perfect blend of cheese, tastily-seasoned toppings (which are a mere $1 for whatever you want) and excellent, perfectly cooked crust! Good for families who want to share dishes, dates, the space is large enough for big parties and groups, and the atmosphere is, well, "rustic," with a great, well-lit patio right on main street in lovely Old Colorado City. Did I mention the service was also great?! I was lead to a table right away, the host and servers were very courteous, were able to recommend a good wine (which was excellent!), were prompt (I got my pizza and wine within 5 minutes, as did other parties around me), came back regularly to see how things were. It was great! If you're in the area and looking for pizza, I certainly recommend you check this place out!

    I had seen some of the more negative reviews about this place before I went, so I wasn't expecting anything amazing. I was meeting a group of 6 people at the restaurant when I arrived and told the host as much when I arrived. He asked if I wanted to sit outside when I arrived and I said sure, but when he headed outside he said that table had already been seated and he would need to seat us inside, which was fine. 10 minutes had gone by and my friends hadn't arrived, which was odd because they are normally on time or early. It got me to wondering just who had been seated outside. So I poked my head out and it was my friends. !@?$? I understand people make mistakes, but didn't it seem odd that my party had six and the party outside had six and each table was waiting for three people? Regardless, the food was good. I really like grilled pizza and I think they did a fair job. I do think they need to spice up their pizza sauce and give it some more pizzazz. The salads my friends ordered looked chunky and 'modern', but yummy. I would probably go back, after I scope out all the other restaurants in Old Colorado City. :)

    Even though the wait time between ordering and having pizza on the table was excruciatingly long, the food is worth the wait every time I've been here. The outdoor seating is very pleasant and a perfect atmosphere for lunch. To all those negative reviewers stating that the food is too expensive or overpriced, when you think of the pizza in terms of an entree, 13 dollars is not much. If you want cheap pizza, go to dominoes and get three for that price. Pizzeria Rustica is the real deal for pizza and I will definitely go back.

    My husband and I love the pizza here! The ingredients are fresh, and a lot of them are local. The salads are very nice, and the antipasta plate makes a great snack or appetizer. I love the Quattro Verdure or the Quattro Stagione pizzas. The Rustica used to be a favorite, but as someone else mentioned, the presentation of it is a bit off now. There's a big glob of cheese on one edge, and hardly anything else on the rest of the pie. Strange, and not very tasty. However, there's a lovely patio for outside dining, a nice wine list, and friendly service. Great place for a really decent meal.

    Pizzeria Rustica's popularity among Springs residents is perplexing. Yes, it embraces a localvore ethos, which is admirable. But this restaurant somehow uses exceptional local ingredients in the service of mediocre food. The price of a basic margherita pizza is absurdly high. Service here is amateurish at best and more often rude. I've visited three times, each time hoping to revise my opinion of the restaurant. With each visit I come away more dissatisfied. Is the owner perhaps so well-connected that everyone overlooks the food's deficits? Not sure. Still hoping for improvement.

    I upped the stars to 4 after last visit--the antipasto redeemed itself. Still a little odd that for a large plate (for 4 to have a bit of everything) there were only 1 or 2 of many things--they were of much higher quality and flavor than my previous visits. Nice chunk of goat cheese, salami, pickled onions and asiago cheese. Still think the Margherita pizza is exceptionally underwhelming for flavor and crispness, but the Salumi and Quattro Stagioni were quite good. I think the Quattro Stagioni was better, cheesier, than before.

    Went last night and was very impressed. I am from the east coast and had not yet found a decent pizza place, UNTIL last night. We started with an antipasto and it was incredible. All fresh ingredients and reminded me of being in the North End of Boston. The pizza was terrific reminded me of pizza i had had in Europe. Our server was Anthony and he was great. The atmosphere is very laid back and not pushy. All of the employees were friendly. I noticed some reviews about the Rustica, and having the knowledge of pizza and good food, there is nothing wrong with it. If you have ever traveled outside of the US you would know that Pizza isn't suppose to over powering and full of cheese and tons of sauce. Another plus was all the ingredients were fresh and from local farms. This restaurant was spot on and we will be back.

    We were visiting from MA and a local shop suggested Pizzeria Rustica when we asked for a suggestion for lunch. We arrived right at noon and were seated quickly. Tony seated us and also served us. The decor of the restaurant was perfectly charming. As wood-fired pizza lovers we were not disappointed - the pizza was flavorful and perfectly seasoned. The crust was kept simple which allowed the flavor of the toppings to shine through. Loved the little touches of the garlic truffle oil for the crust and the chocolate covered espresso beans at the end. Tony was attentive, friendly, and super sweet. I only wish these guys had a location in Massachusetts!

    Seated at the back I patio with 3 friends. There was a consistent terrible smell that drifted in and out. The waiter acknowledged the problem but did not move us when other tables opened despite being asked twice. Further, there were two tables finishing dinner and talking when someone came out and announced rudely, "we closed 30 minutes ago". This was the first and only mention we received. Not going back!

    Ambiance: What a great atmosphere to savor a wonderful meal. If you are used to chain-style pizza places, that are noisy, rowdy and filled with beer-guzzling patrons, you will not fit in here. Classy yet casual. Beautifully decorated. Cozy. This all just enhances an already enjoyable dining experience. Also, plenty of outdoor dining in warmer months. Service: Very friendly from the host to the server. Attentive and helpful (they know their wine list which is always a plus). Never felt rushed. Food: I think this is the best pizza in town. As others have stated, this is not the place to go for Americanized New York or Chicago style pizza (you know the type where you order a couple of larges for the group with a ton of toppings, then gulp them all down with beer in mass quantity.) Quality is the name of the game here folks, and this is more "refined" pizza. Pizzas here are served individually. On three different visits, I have ordered three different varieties, and have always thoroughly enjoyed each one. Great toppings, with fine cheeses and herbs. Somewhat delicate, in that you can really fully taste each topping, without one over-powering the other. This is Italian pizza, and very much reminds me of the varieties I was able to savor during my visit there. This is really "grown up" pizza and I can see young people not appreciating this more upscale and authentic version. Overall, we are fortunate to have a place like this in town. On my last visit, I took a friend who is not really into pizza, and now he is a convert to Pizzeria Rustica. I do need to try their non-pizza options sometime though. This place is a winner all around.

    THIS is the real DEAL. I have only been to Italy once and this is Italian Pizza PERIOD. Really, my wife and I venture around Denver to find authentic Pizza and this is the best. We saw the add in "Edible Front Range Magazine". Others have the ingredients but, this imported oven must make it real! Wish I could have Yelped about this one first and will Yelp to all my friends.     Pizzeria Rustica is amazing. The owner has really done his homework by studying authentic Naples-style pizza. He imports his flour from Italy and uses the best quality local ingredients for his toppings. We LOVE the results. It's really exciting to have such a sophisticated, yet casual, dining option near us. We eat here often and always feel the food is outstanding, the service is excellent and the overall experience is highly enjoyable. No, the pizza isn't cheap, but the quality justifies the price. Make reservations, even if you're going on a weeknight. It's a small place and is always booked solid. There's a reason why it's so popular!

    All pizza is not created equal. This is not "New York" or "Chicago" style pizza. Don't walk in expecting something along those lines. This is a very traditional Italian style pizzeria. (The 2nd most authentic thing I have had since being in Italy) The place was small, a lot of two seater tables (patio wasn't open) so if you go with more than two I would expect more of a wait. (4 people ahead of us were facing a 30 minute wait 30 minutes after opening on a Saturday, while my wife and I were seated right away.) They do take reservations though so if you are looking ahead it's probably worth it. The wait-staff here was also really friendly. They didn't hover and they weren't there too much. The staff seems to be doing a good job being helpful, but not in the way. I really admire the owner of this pizzeria, he seems to be doing a lot of things right in order to achieve that "authentic" flavor in his pizza. Both the wood fired crust tasted excellent and the toppings had a very "italian" flavor that I really don't taste here in the states very often. (Which might be what puts off some people to this pizza.) As to the cost, this isn't Little Caesar's people. 12 to 14 bucks for a pizza is totally worth it if the ingredients are quality. I was able to eat at least two meals off of the one pizza, so 6 bucks a pop doesn't seem so bad to me. Plus the quality is way worth it. If you're looking for a cheap pizza find a chain, if you are looking for some quality handmade pizza in the Colorado Springs area then this is really worth it. If you've only had chain pizza then give this a try!

    Tried it on a beautiful Sunday afternoon with my dad. He's a meat lover so I told the waitress, "If it comes from an animal, put it on the pizza." We had antipasta while we waited and it was different in that they put polenta chunks in it. Wasn't expecting that, but I like creativity. The big, fat caper berries were wonderful though. When the pizza came it looked like any other pizza that I order, but the taste... Mmmm. It is a cut above what is normally found. It's all in the crust IMHO. This is pizza to dream about.

    When you go to a pizza place you have to know what KIND of pizza you are getting. Is it more original Italian pizza like Pizzeria Bianco in Phoenix or Pizzeria Mozza in LA? Or is it east coast pizza? Chicago pizza? This is Italian Pizza done very well. (Not as good as Pizzeria Bianco or Mozza, but those are two of the highest rated in the nation) Lighter crust. In my opinion, there is never enough cheese on Italian pizza. (You want a lot of cheese, go to Ledo's by the University of Maryland or Giordano's in Chicago) This is VERY good Italian pizza AND one of the best atmosphere's in town. Go when it is warm and sit outside.

    Nice setting, but overpriced and the pizza wasn't all that tasty. It's a small interior with few tables that are set close together--intimate setting like a European restaurant. Call ahead for a reservation, especially on weeknights. Simple menu--mainly antipasti, pizza, and dessert. Good wine list. Spacious patio that will be nice for outdoor dining in the summer. I thought the pizza was overpriced-- $13 for a pizza that serves one, and it wasn't all that tasty. I think Il Vicino does a better job for a lower price. The limoncello sorbet that we had for dessert (it was a special) was great and a generous portion for $4. So, some pros, some cons. Check it out for yourself.

    Great little spot in Old Colorado City. The menu is small and changes frequently. The pizza is awesome, made to order and fresh ingredients. I highly recommend a stop by Pizzeria Rustica for a romantic dinner for two, but make reservations on busy nights because the dining room is small. Also great for outdoor drinks and dinner on the patio.

    This place is great. I'm not one to write reviews on food establishments because more often then not I'm a satisfied hungry italian that rarely will share my opinion about food. But after moving about 1 block away and frequenting this place a few times, I have to admit this place is great if you want a great low key atmosphere that really puts forth the effort in using the best local ingredients in their menu items. Yes, they only have a handful of signature pizzas, but from my experiences, they are truly the tastiest wood oven pizzas in the springs. In addition to the great food, the staff has been great, the atmosphere is unmatched in the springs, and I would recommend even the pickiest eaters I know to plan a dinner at Pizzeria Rustica.

Its great they buy local but I would not recommend this to a friend or even my enemy. We waited too long for our food and our server never noticed.     Err...owner (or host or whatever in the picture) was a jerk. We were looking in to stopping for a drink here but went upstairs to use the restroom first. When we walked the the stairs the host was extremely rude to us and made us feel two feet tall by belittling us by making it well known that the restroom (which is shared by several other businesses) was for customers only. We were so turned off by his pompousness that we decided to walk on and try our luck somewhere else. It didn't help that he stood in front of the door and made it difficult for us to leave. Oh well, we've heard good things, but here's two customers that you've lost for good. We've also told our friends who live in the area not to go either. Boo. That's just bad business. I understand if we were some riff raff scaring away customers, but that we were not.

    Great Neapolitan pizzas, fresh toppings Okay, so I prefer Neapolitan style pizzas to all others - i.e. woodfired base with delicate, flavorful toppings. This place has it. If you're looking for 5-cheese or 3-meat or deep dish pizzas or the like, you may want to go to your local Old Chicago's. They care about quality here and it really shines through. Taste and freshness is king and everyone I've introduced this place to has adopted it as their personal pizzeria from then on. Prices are very decent and portion sizes are more than enough for anyone. As to the non-pizza stuff: Love the wine selection, esp. the house chianti. The dressing on the salad my friend had was fantastic - I will have to go back again just to try that myself. On the other hand I thought that half of the selection in their non-vegetarian antipasta was uninspired (tasteless chunk of polenta cake) while the other half was very nice. One word of caution - it's nearly always packed so book ahead.

    This is easily my favorite pizza place in town. It's a small place and often quite busy around dinner, but it is invariably easy to find a table during lunch hours on the weekend. It's definitely not a typical fast-food pizza place, so your order takes time. Again, lunch time helps a lot here I think. The menu is small, yet offers enough choices for almost anyone. My wife and I always start with the vegetarian antipasto. From there, I almost always go with the Di Giorno for the fantastic combination of local-ish food, but the standard menu pizzas I've tried have also been fantastic. The highlight of the desert menu is the spumoni. The balsamic fig glaze is fantastic!

    Went with four friends back in Feb, should have written about it then,but hey i'm writing about it now cuz I remember really enjoying it. Had a bottle of Rosso from italy that was well priced. We shared a well put together antipasto plate. Each one of us ordered a different pizza, I had the salumi, perfect italian wood fired pizza, cooked just right. Paying $12-14 bucks for a hand made pizza with flour from italy and locally sourced ingredients is WELL worth the price for what you get. We went on a Thursday night with a reservation, which I highly suggest, wait if you can, but give it a try. Seriously Maxwell and Brenna you guys dont belong posting on Yelp. Those of you out there who just read these posts, take the time to Yelp about a cool small business doing something out of the norm.

    It's great, you can tell that love what they are doing. Fresh, fun, I can't wait for them to start lunchs again. Best anti-pasta plate ever, and the truffel EVO to dip your crust in puts them over the top. A gem in old Colorado city

    Love this place. Cozy with great food. Tonight we ordered the Rustica pizza and it was delicious. We didn't have reservations (which I would recommend) so the only seats available were outside-we prefer that anyways, so it was great!

    Nice! Found this pizzeria just walking by. Tasty! I'll be back for another pie with different toppings. Perky wait-staff, a decent wine & well-chosen music (that didn't give me indigestion) completed this relaxing lunch. Thin-crust pie just about perfectly done! That's amore!

    Pretty darn good fancy pizza. We had a sausage/garlic/fennel pie and a ham and ricotta pie. For dessert, we had a wood oven baked chocolate chip cookie with vanilla gelato. Yum.

    If this is the Best of the Springs, we have low standards. I've eaten here several times hoping to taste what some are raving about, but I am at a loss. The atmosphere is nice and I appreciate the organic/local angle but the food is nothing special. Sure the pizza is better than chain pizza, but it's overpriced and barely authentic (and yes, I've spent quite a bit of time in Italy and grew up in a Sicilian town, so I do know authentic Italian pizza, both northern and southern). What's more, there is little variety on the menu and the servers/cooks are young and inexperienced. For the price, you can do better. I personally think Il Vicino and Boriello Bros (yes, I said it) have better pizza, especially for the price. Pros: Nice patio, better than chain pizza. Cons: Overpriced, mediocre service.

    After frolicking around Garden of the Gods, we stumbled upon this gem. It was the middle of a Saturday afternoon with the clouds teasing a bit of rainfall. I bring this up because we seemed to have come at a time that wasn't so busy but had enough people to not make the place seem dead. We sat at the outside patio by the fountain. Great ambiance. Wine list was great. Our server was friendly and very helpful in selecting a nice glass of wine from the list (that ended up becoming a bottle!), as well as giving us a bit of a food knowledge. A place that satisfies both the stomach and the mind? It exists. And, it was here. We ordered the caprese as an appetizer (best I've ever had). I may be living in a closet because this was the first time I've ever seen green and orange tomatoes; heirloom tomatoes to be exact. We were then schooled about what heirloom tomatoes are all about. One pizza is a good size to share between 2 people, or to save the other half as another meal. I love the fact that their ingredients are locally grown. You can taste the freshness and I'm all about supporting local business!

    Wood fired oven. Decent wine list (Bibbiani Chianti/Sangiovese). Itialian beers (Artigianale). Seafood Anti Pasti includes tender squid w/tentacles. Who in the hell doesn't like tentacles? The waitress was surprised our young kids devoured the squid. If you want tubes, eat a bicycle tire. While we fought over the squid, the sophisticates next to us squirmed, giggled, poked, and avoided their order. I would never marry a woman who didn't like squid. The shrimp was a bit tired, but the giant capers-on-the-stem and goat cheese stuffed peppers were great. The (white) cheese pizza was fantastic. The 'truffle' oil for dipping was a bit bland. The outdoor seating is awesome. The new and attractive waitstaff has a ways to go, although they are very friendly - they need to nail their reservation/seating procedure. This would be a great spot for a summer lunch, but they are currently only serving dinner. I can't wait for the recently installed espresso machine to be up and hissing. Pizzaria Rustica is a bright spot in the dining hell of Colorado Springs.

    Way overpriced for what you get and we normally go to pricey places. I really wanted to like this restaurant because they try to buy organic/local and I like how the restaurant looks. The last time we went there my husband and I got 2 pizzas. Barely any toppings, barely any cheese, barely any sauce and we were both still hungry and for all of that we paid a lot. Go to Panino's for pizza instead, they use Ranch Foods Direct for their steak and you can get whole wheat crusts.

    Good food, good staff and good atmosphere. What else could you ask for...well a responsive email reservation system would help. The web site says reservations taken by email. I emailed and never got a reply, so ended up calling and wouldn't you know it, they were all booked up for the early seating, Arg! I then called and got in a little early for the 8:00 PM seating at 7:30. It worked out but these things drive me crazy. If you aren't going to check your email, don't advertize it as a method of making reservations. I'll be back but won't use email to book.

    We sat on the patio. I could easily hear the very soft tones of my dinner companion. The pizza had very fresh, easily discernible ingredients; it was not just a mess melted on some dough. I think draft craft beers would be a nice thing to add.

    I should have read the reviews closer... All I can say is, I'm still hungry after 2 pizzas.... So, after the nice lookin hostess left to seat an older couple, I noticed the relaxed atmosphere, & that the majority of patrons were older couples mixed in equally with skinny chicks on dates; that should've been my first clue. It was kind of crowded so I figured I'd get a couple pizzas to go, since the reviews were so great & all. So I asked what a shining example of their best pizza would be and how big they were. I was told that the Rustica was the one to choose and that they all were about 10 inches or so. I ordered 2 different pizzas and was shocked when I got back to my hotel. The two pizzas were VERY lightly topped, & unevenly distributed toppings that ended up in clumps and piles that spoke of complacent food making, by someone who wasn't going to have to eat it. The crust at some points were 3 full inches into the pizza, big deal eh? Well the pizza is only 10 inches. I ate both pizzas, which i have to admit, when I did get a bite of the sparse toppings, it did taste good. But if 60% of the pizza taste like crust, how can that be satisfying in any way? Grown up pizza huh? I'll take kids pizza like the kinds found in New York, Jersey, & Chicago. Fat guys beware, this isn't for you unless ya get at least 3 pizzas. I know good food, & I think this place could be good, but $30 and 2 pizzas later, I am still hungry. I am disappointed that every 3rd bite was good when with a little extra care & preparation, every bite could've been good & left me satisfied... I'll not revisit this place.

    Went with a group of friends - we ordered salads and pizzas. I know with a larger group there is generally a longer wait for food so we weren't in a hurry. Our salads arrive about 30 minutes later - salads were very good, lots of fresh veggies, yummy - no complaints there. An hour later our pizzas finally arrive. One person left as soon as her pizza arrived because we had been there for about 2 hours and she had to get home. After waiting for that long I was thinking this is going to be the best pizza ever! The pizza arrives (I got the margherita) and it was burned (I mean black) on the bottom and the outside crust. I cut off the crust but there wasn't anything I could do about the bottom. The sauce tasted like tomato paste directly out of a can and the only other taste was the burnt-ness. I NEVER throw away food but I couldn't get any more than a few bites of it down. I went home hungry. I didn't complain because I didn't want to wait another hour and a half for another pizza. I will not be going back again!
